The Hidden Reason Your Chattanooga Home Won’t Stay Cool

Chattanooga summers put real pressure on a house. The AC runs, the vents feel cool, and the thermostat is set where you want it—yet the rooms still won’t hold temperature.
When we get called out to inspect a job, we work through a checklist before we look anywhere else:
HVAC system sized correctly for the home
Ducts sealed (no leaks into attics, crawlspaces, or walls)
Filters clean and unrestricted
Indoor and outdoor coils clean
Refrigerant charge correct
Airflow balanced at the registers
Thermostat accurate and in a good location
Condensate drain clear
Outdoor unit unobstructed and getting proper airflow
When the equipment itself is doing its job, we turn to a thermal imaging camera. That camera shows us what the eye cannot: missing insulation, compressed or settled insulation, and air leaks around penetrations, attic hatches, and framing.
Your HVAC system’s job is to cool the air. Your insulation’s job is to keep that cooled air from escaping and to keep attic heat from pouring back in. Missing insulation, gaps, or cracks is like trying to fill a bucket that has holes in the bottom. The system can run all day and still lose the fight.
If your house will not stay comfortable this summer, the problem is not always the AC. It is the envelope around it. A thermal scan finds those holes quickly so the cool air you are paying for actually stays inside.
