So what is radiant heat? Radiant heat is just a fancy wording for heated floors. The magic happens by laying down a pattern of hydronic PEX tubing. After the tubing is installed, the concrete slab, and then floors are installed. When you turn on your heat, essentially what happens is hot water will circulate through the hydronic tubing, heating up the concrete, which heats up the floors. The heat continues to rise, heating the entire house while using much less energy than traditional HVAC methods.

Dom Winters, a crew member of Scenic Air Solutions, is holding PEX hydronic piping in place as the other Scenic Air crew members evaluate the spacing of the tubing in relation to the installed tubing right next to it.

Noiseless Heating & Air Conditioning

Radiant heating & cooling is almost 100% noiseless. Traditional heating and cooling relies on pumping in air with a loud outdoor unit. With radiant heating, the heat is generated from hot water running through tubing beneath your floors.

Higher Quality Breathing Air

The traditional HVAC methods rely on your system to pull in air from the outside. The challenges can occur during allergy season or during rainy days. With radiant heating & cooling, your breathing air is of the highest quality because the system avoids the seasonal challenges.

Long Lasting HVAC System
A properly installed radiant system only needs to be installed once. One of the main benefits of choosing radiant for your HVAC replacement is durability. Radiant heating and cooling lasts the longest because it avoid all deterioration factors that other HVAC systems are vulnerable to. There is no outdoor unit that is exposed to the changing seasons and harsh weather events, everything happens underneath the floors. Radiant avoids the need for duct work, which would be another vulnerability. Also, there is no furnace involved with radiant heating.

Long Term Savings On Utility Costs
Radiant heating and cooling is a highly efficient system for saving energy. In fact, very little energy is needed because the radiant system uses the laws of nature to it's advantage. The revolutionary idea is that heat created below the floor's surfaces naturally rises. On average home owners can reduce their utility bill nearly in half by switching to radiant.
