Scenic Air is a family-owned & operating HVAC company in Chattanooga, TN. John Giles, owner, has worked in the industry for over 50 years. He specialized his skill set over the years by focusing on the D work - Dirty, Demanding, Dangerous, and Different.

Today Scenic Air works with homeowners throughout Chattanooga. John and Joy are the team leaders, and the crew is capable of your toughest HVAC problems. Scenic Air works with commercial and residential clients, with experience in governmental, industrial, and entertainment commercial projects. Our passion and expertise is providing you with cleaner, more comfortable air.

Our Story

John Giles has been on a mission in the HVAC industry ever since he attended Kirkman Technical High School nearly 50 years ago. He know HVAC was going to be important. John quickly got a job as an installer after school, and he took advantage of every opportunity to learn on the job.

In 2019 John and his wife Joy purchased Scenic Air from a friend, and took over operations of the company. Today, John and Joy take a lot of pride and enjoyment in teaching & mentoring the next generation of Scenic Air.

Meet The Team

Owner & CEO

John Giles

John started his HVAC journey nearly 50 years ago when he attended Kirkman Technical School. He spent the majority of his career taking on challenging experience, which he now looks to pass onto his team. He loves taking apart cars & his claim to fame is starting with a 1949 Pontiac and trading up to a Shelby GT500

Owner, Crew Mentor

Joy Giles

Joy is the heartbeat of the Scenic Air crew. She helps new crew members with technical ability, but beyond that she mentors them & gives them the tools they need to be successful. Being married to John, she learned so much about the HVAC industry second-hand. In her free time she loves video games, Lego Kits, and volunteering.

Project Manager

Jacob Wheeler

Jacob never expected to be working in HVAC, but is now one of the top rising stars in the industry. He works closely with the whole crew as an install manager. His favorite part of the job is the friendships he has formed with the crew. Jacob enjoys honing his mechanical skills in his free time, working on motorcycles, 4-wheelers, and dirt bikes.

Technician & Installer

Taylor Curtis

Taylor was always interested in the trades. One day an HVAC technician had a job at his house, and Taylor was able to ask him about the job. Now, it has been his career for the past 2 years. He likes the industry because it gives him skills that he will be able to use for his own house one day.

Service Technician

Adam Wrape

Adam famously found the HVAC industry from an encounter at a gas station. He took the opportunity, and has never looked back! His favorite part about the job is learning new skills that he will have forever. He is recently a father. When he's not working or spending time with family, he also enjoys fixing cars.

Installer

Joseph Smith

Joseph has been working in HVAC for almost 2 years after the Navy. He learned everything about the job from John, Joy, and his crew members. His favorite part about the job is taking a breath and admiring what he and the crew built. Joseph enjoys bouldering, climbing, and soccer and wants to build his dream home from scratch one day.

Installer

Dom Winters

Dom started off his career in the flooring industry. As he got started with a big local company, he felt like something was missing - the connection of working with his hands and accomplishment of a finished job. Dom now sees his own long-term path in HVAC. He has 4 kids at home, and some of his favorite moments outside of work are playing with his kids in the park.
